So, our stand at the Northern Beaches Expo was a great hit with people visiting us seeing themselves in the chaos of our before set up and wanting to know how they could achieve the calm and organisation of our after displays. We were in our element as we got to spend a whole day talking about our passion of decluttering peoples lives and watching the benefits that it brings to so many areas of their lives. It is only when you have lost the clutter from your life that you realise how widespread its affects had been. Hopefully with all the tips and tricks that we shared with the people we met, they will be able to make a start to bringing order into their lives.

We’ve attached some photos of our stand on the day so you can see what can be achieved for yourselves. Obviously the first picture is our before set up and is a familiar scene for many many people. If you’re short on cash but want to streamline your set up then we can advise you on what you can do with your existing furniture and accessories as shown in the second picture. The last picture shows what can be achieved when you take our advice on selecting furniture and accessories and how to place them to achieve maximum results with the space you’re trying to improve. Resolve to get organised

In the February edition of My Business magazine, Andrew Vincent, the creator and producer of Channel 9’s ‘Your Business Success’ program, focuses on the importance of keeping diaries and written records of the day-to-day running of your business.

According to Vincent, it’s amazing how many people commit everything to memory or at best scraps of paper or Post-it-Notes which are to be found somewhere between the office wall, the desk, wallet, handbag, the car or home. Yet at the same time they get frustrated about not achieving their goals.

Based on some advice offered by Richard Branson in his book ‘Losing My Virginity’, Vincent has compiled a seven-step crash course in time management that includes suggestions such as: taking a notebook with you everywhere you go and writing everything down in it – every meeting, every idea and every deadline.

He also suggests creating a to-do list that prioritises everything that needs to be done.

According to a recent survey, keeping a written record of your activities, ideas and priorities will give you a competitive advantage over 90 per cent of all other business owners, who only have things committed to memory or lying around on scraps of paper.

BG teams up with Howards Storage World…

The countdown begins to our first ever wardrobe workshop with our new friends HSW.

Working together with In An Organised Fashion, we are presenting workshops to show you how to maximise your space, get organised and utilise their fabulous product range.

To kick off, “In the Know – Wardrobe Workshop” will be held at Warringah Mall shopping centre on Tuesday 9 February from 7pm-9pm. And for only $20 you will receive not only engaging, useful and practical wardrobe tips – you will receive a free gift!

You will need to book ahead, however, so grab your girlfriends and come along to be a part of this brilliant workshop.

It’s been a few years since I started out in BG Home Styling and what a ride it has been. And as this is my first-ever blog I really should update you on all of the happenings in and around BG home styling.

On Monday 1 December, I attended the Working Womens Network Gala Awards Evening in Roseville. I am very proud to say that I was a finalist for the Working Women’s Network 2009 Awards Program in the Customer Service category. This was a great honour for me as our customers are the most important part of the business. We really strive to ensure that our customers needs come first and that we look after them first and foremost.

On 22 October of this this year I received an award for Sustainability in Business at Pittwater Council Sustainability Awards. As you can imagine I was honoured to receive such an award as our environment is important to me and my business. Here is a video of me accepting my award:-
